Dance with Colors
Today I painted really small. 6x8. I proved to me too small for me. I didn't have as much room to play, and I think it stunted my creative juices a bit. But I do like how this turned out. From a black and white reference. This is a barn up north in Alamosa, CO.

Hillside Drama!
We painted from a black and white reference photo today, which gave me the freedom to make up my own colors. I enjoyed throwing some bright yellows in there! This is 11 x 14.

Poinsettia Promises
Hot off the press. This is the oil painting I did today. I love this flower. I love to enjoy it all winter long. It can be depressing to put away the Christmas decorations, but this flower keeps blooming and brings bright colors into what could be the drudgery of the big holiday passing. I believe this is 9 x 12.
Christmas Blizzard
Here is an acrylic painting I did just before Christmas. It really fit the weather we were having that day. My kids built three snowman this day. How was your Christmas?

Back in the Business
Hello Friends,
It has been a very long time! I took off a good long while to be a Momma--my greatest work of creation-- but I am now back in the painting business! I have been painting for the last year, and I am ready to start showing and selling some art. Currently, I am very into oil painting. I paint landscapes mostly, but I really enjoy still lifes as well. Come back weekly to see what I am working on.

Remembering the Elee's
Some of you haven't seen my sweet Elee's in a long time, so here is a trip up Memory Lane:
Oh Susanna, oh don't you cry for her! She is sweet and talented, and check out that balance!Truman, the cute little guy! He just loves animals and pretending! Can you see what he is here?Penelope is my favorite, and Mariah's too, for that matter! She is a "Soul Sister". She has heart!Gymnastics is Harriet's thing. Don't let size define you!Oh Margaret, The Classic...She began it all with her sweet ballet!

Mariah's Birthday Gifts
Mariah's birthday is coming up! I have been hard at work for several months making her gifts. Here is two of them!
Hazel Ross is my neighbor, and she walked me through making this quilt for Mariah. It is called a "running fence" pattern. These are the colors I am doing in Mariah's room. I loved learning how to do the ruffle on this quilt. It isn't done by the traditional thread that you pull and it frequently breaks method! I'll show you how to do it sometime if you come visit!
This is a pillow I threw together with the extra material! Don't look too closely. Hazel wasn't looking over my shoulder on this one!
This is a drawing I did of Mariah. I loved the picture we have of her like this and thought it would look good in black and white contrasts! It wasn't exactly like I imagined, but they never are really!
I also put together a playroom for Mariah. I will post pictures soon!
